International Links
The Royal University of Phnom Penh has a strong international focus and seeks to foster further international links that benefit both RUPP and the partner institution or organisation. Partnerships with other universities and organisations, not only in the Asia region but all over the world, benefit all involved by encouraging inter-cultural academic and business relationships and information sharing, as well as raising awareness of important global issues.

RUPP has a Memorandum of Understanding with 23 international universities and strong relationships with several more. It also has strong links with over 30 international non-government organizations and government aid agencies (see list below). Staff and students have benefited enormously by participating in exchanges and conferences all over the world. The University also strongly encourages the exchange of students and staff with international universities in the areas of training and research.

ASEAN University Network (AUN)
Royal University of Phnom Penh became a member of the ASEAN University Network (AUN) in 1999. This association has enabled the university to forge strong bonds with institutions in the neighbouring region. The AUN, established in 1995 for capacity building and collaboration in the field of higher education in South East Asian countries, provides opportunities for staff and students to attend training and conferences in other ASEAN nations. The President of the Royal University of Phnom Penh, Professor Pit Chamnan, is Cambodia's representative for higher education at the AUN. (Back to Top)
International Conference Participation
RUPP hosts two major conferences for local and international researchers and scholars with the kind sponsorship of the Heinrich Böll Foundation and the Toyota Foundation:
- The tri-annual International Khmer Studies Conference
- The annual Socio-Cultural Research Congress
In 2001, the University also co-hosted, with IDP Australia, the 5th International Conference on Language and Development.
At these conferences, RUPP continues to demonstrate the high standards of work being produced and quality teaching practices. (Back to Top)
