Case Interview

Ming Fai Enterprise (Cambodia) Co., Ltd

Students from SCA visited Ming Fai Enterprise (Cambodia) Co., Ltd, interviewed the company’s top management and walked its manufacturing plants. What follows are the key takeaways from a visit that put classroom theory next to the way a working factory is actually run.

About the host

A manufacturing operation, seen from the inside

Ming Fai Enterprise (Cambodia) Co., Ltd is the Cambodian arm of the Ming Fai Group. The visit on 25 May 2026 was built around two things students rarely get together in one afternoon: an interview with the people who make the decisions, and a walk through the plants where those decisions land.

For an SCA audience that pairing is the whole point. Management explains the intent β€” how people are hired, trained and kept, how the operation is expected to behave. The plant floor shows what the intent actually looks like in layout, in sequence, in the pace of the line.

Observations

Three things the interview surfaced

01
Technology, languages and technical skill
Management’s first advice to students was to keep learning new technology, new languages and new technical skills. In a plant that answers to customers and owners abroad, none of the three is optional β€” each is part of how the work gets done.
02
Live in the moment, look into the future
Do today’s work properly, and plan for what comes next. It is the same discipline a factory runs on: the shift has to be delivered, and the next quarter has to be prepared for, at the same time.
03
Treat everyone fairly and respectfully
Stated plainly, and not as a courtesy. A plant depends on people cooperating across shifts, departments and languages; fairness is the condition that makes that cooperation hold.

The interview and the plant walk

The visit opened as a case interview in the company’s meeting room, with students putting their questions directly to top management on how the business is run and what it looks for in the people it hires. The group then moved out to the manufacturing plants, where the answers given around the table could be checked against the floor.

Takeaways

What students took away from the interview

Learn new technology, languages and technical skills. These are the things that keep you employable as the work changes. A degree opens the door; what you add after it decides how far into the building you get.

Live in the moment, look into the future. Give the task in front of you your full attention without losing sight of where you are going. Neither habit works on its own.

Treat everyone fairly and respectfully. In an operation this size you will work with people at every level. How you treat them is not separate from your professional ability β€” it is part of it.
