Overview

One connected system, seen up close

On 24 April 2026, the Faculty of Engineering organised a Hands-on Odoo Workshop on Digital Transformation in Business Management together with the Odoo Education Team. The session moved students beyond theory and into the software itself β€” configuring modules, following a transaction from one department to the next, and seeing how sales, inventory, accounting and operations meet inside a single ERP platform.

The workshop is one of the activities delivered under the Memorandum of Understanding between the Royal University of Phnom Penh and Odoo HK Limited, which commits Odoo to free training and workshops for RUPP teachers and students.

Programme

What the session covered

01
From stand-alone software to one platform
The opening session traced the shift away from a patchwork of disconnected tools towards a single all-in-one solution, and why that consolidation is the heart of digital transformation in business management.
02
Hands-on with a live ERP
Participants worked on their own laptops in a live Odoo environment, setting up records and running through real workflows rather than watching a demonstration.
03
How business functions connect
Sales, inventory, purchasing and accounting were followed end to end, so students could see how one entry ripples through every other part of an organisation.
04
Open question and answer
An extended discussion let participants put their own cases to the Odoo Education Team and talk through how the platform would handle them.
05
Skills that carry into industry
Working in an industry-standard ERP gives Automation & Supply Chain Systems Engineering students practical experience that maps directly onto what employers use every day.

With thanks to the Odoo Team

Our thanks to the Odoo Education Team for delivering this valuable training and for supporting our students’ learning journey. Sessions like this one turn an ERP from a diagram on a slide into something our graduates have actually used.
