Knowing yourself first: SCA students and lecturers take the MBTI with Brighton Academy
On 5 August 2026, students and lecturers from the Department of Supply Chain and Automation Engineering (SCA) attended an MBTI Training Workshop led by our honourable guest from Brighton Academy — an interactive session on personality assessment, self-awareness and communication.
A morning spent mapping how each of us thinks and works
On 5 August 2026, students and lecturers from the Department of Supply Chain and Automation Engineering (SCA) had the valuable opportunity to attend an insightful MBTI Training Workshop, led by our honourable guest from Brighton Academy.
The interactive session guided participants through personality assessment testing, allowing attendees to discover their own Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality types. Rather than a lecture, the workshop ran as a working session — take the assessment, read the result, then talk through what it means alongside the people you study and teach with every day.
Together, students and faculty gained valuable insights into self-awareness, individual strengths and effective communication — skills that are essential for both personal growth and collaborative teamwork.
From a questionnaire to a conversation about how we work
The Myers–Briggs Type Indicator sorts the way a person prefers to take in information and reach decisions into one of sixteen types. It is a starting point for a conversation, not a label: the value of the workshop was less in the four letters each participant received than in what the room did with them afterwards.
Supply chain and automation work is done in teams, and teams run on communication. Understanding how you and the people around you prefer to think and decide is a professional skill — and it is one that can be taught.

Faculty took the assessment alongside their students rather than observing it — which is what made the discussion that followed a genuine exchange.
