The future of navigation in Cambodia

Dean Khieu is the Co-founding Partner and Operations Manager of Smarter Solutions Co., Ltd. a GIS & IT Development Consulting company based in Phnom Penh. Dean will be providing a seminar entitled “The Future of Navigation in Cambodia” at the Royal University of Phnom Penh on the 29th of May, 2010 from 9:00AM to 11:00AM, Room 104, Building A. Smarter Solutions' breakthrough product and service is SmartMap™, the most accurately detailed digital map of Cambodia for use in GPS Navigation devices. As a market leader, the company strives to provide competitive employment opportunities and work experience to Cambodian nationals interested in working with cutting edge technologies related to GPS systems. This seminar will discuss GPS Navigation applications & hardware in Cambodia and the benefits of these technologies. The seminar will expose invaluable market knowledge and career insight. It will provide students with a major glimpse of possible future career opportunities surrounding these technologies and the nascent demand for human resources in these particular sectors as GPS technologies evolve in Cambodia.

Biography

Dean Khieu is an Australian-born Cambodian who has recently returned to Cambodia to utilize the knowledge and experience he has gained abroad in his native country. Dean studied at the Sydney Institute of Technology specializing in Network Engineering and holds over 10 years of work experience in Application Development, Networks, Servers and System Administration & Support. He has worked with major corporations in Australia including America Online ISP, Telstra Telecom and ABC Television where he has been able to compound his understanding of wide-ranging technologies to establish his company Smarter Solutions. Dean’s vision through Smarter Solutions is focused on developing human resources locally in Cambodia by providing students opportunity to learn and work with new technologies thereby equipping themselves with attributes necessary to help develop the country’s ICT sector.
