Admission Procedure
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Masters of Arts in Tourism and Resource Management,
applicants must hold a B.A, B.Sc. or B.B.A degree or an equivalent certificate from any relevant field.
applicant must pass the written and oral (viva) examinations in English.
credit will be given for high GPA in bachelor degrees and significant work experience.
Exclusively, after passing exams and registering into the program, students from backgrounds other than tourism are required to take all the three elective courses in Option 1 as preparatory courses in order to improve their understanding and technical know-how in tourism field. Participation in these elective courses will be done either prior to or during Semester 1.
Degree
There are three award options available for this program:
Master of Arts (M.A.) in Tourism and Resource Management (Research-based) on successful completion of 54 credit points and semesters 1, 2, 3 and 4 with candidates completing a research thesis in semester 4.
Master of Arts (M.A.) in Tourism and Resource Management (Research-based) on successful completion of 54 credit points and semester 1, 2, 3, and 4 with candidates completing a research project after fulfilling two additional courses in semester 4.
Postgraduate Diploma (PDip) in Tourism and Resource Management on successful completion of 42 credit points and semesters 1, 2 and 3.
Length of Study
This program consists of 4 semesters, yet students are allowed up to 4 years to complete, (depending on RUPP and MoEYS academic regulations) provided they are registered as part-time students.
Modes of Instruction
All the courses of the Master’s Degree in TRM are taught in English. Likewise, elective courses in Option 1 will be taught in English, exclusive of those in Option 1 (Electives 12 – 25) which will be taught in Khmer.
Necessary Documents for Application Process
- Application forms (one in English, one in Khmer) enclosed with 4x6 size and 3x4 size photos
- A copy of bachelor certificate certified by the Phnom Penh Municipality
- Academic transcript with accumulative GPA from undergraduate study
- Letter of tourism-related work certification or any equivalent proof of work involved in tourism sector
- Certificate (s) for English language proficiency (if any, yet non-compulsory)
Fees
- Registration fee: USD 20
- Two-year tuition fee: USD 2,200
- (students can pay by semester, by year, or the entire program)
- Fee for elective foundation courses: USD 100
(only for non-tourism candidates)

Option A: Weekday Program (Monday to Friday)
- Morning: 08:00 AM – 11:00 AM
- Afternoon: 02:00 PM – 05:00 PM
Option B: Evening Program (Monday – Friday)
- 05:30 PM – 08:30 PM
Option C: Weekend Program (Saturday and Sunday)
- Morning: 08:00 AM – 11:00 AM
- Afternoon: 02:00 PM – 05:00 PM

Continued Professional Development
As the Master’s Programme has a strong emphasis on professional development, units have been designed to be taken individually as stand-alone continuous professional development courses that can be directly implemented into candidate’s place of work. For continued professional development, each unit will be individually certificated by the University.
